NO COACHING REGISTRATION REQUIRED! Entry to this event is free to the public. No credential will be issued or required for athlete or coach. As always, we ask that only the athlete and his/her coach are in the warm up area. Family, teammates and friends should be in the spectator areas only. Athletes and coaches are allowed in the warm up area no earlier than 30 min prior to their scheduled session.

Lee Draper, one of Utah’s long time master athletes and National master record holder passed away in a skiing accident this year. Utah and the National Masters community mourns the loss of this kind, patient man and skilled weightlifter. His family has created t-shirts to remember him with the proceeds going to Lee’s wife.

USAW MEMBERSHIP:
USAW Membership (Master athlete) is required for all US citizens. Please make sure your membership is valid through the end of the competition (24 April 2022). Current photo ID will be required at weigh in.
Non-US citizens may register without USAW membership and will be subject to all IWF competition regulations including drug testing. Photo ID required at weigh in.
TECHNICAL MEETING:
The technical meeting will be held Wednesday, April 20, at 7:00 PM in room 150 at the Salt Palace Convention Center. Room 150 is across the halls E and D where lifting will take place. Verification of entries (changing weight classes) will take place at 6:30 PM.
COMPETITION SCHEDULE AND START LIST:
Competition will take place on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 21-24 April, 2022. The final lifting schedule will be set after the final verification of entries, the night before the event. You do NOT need to be present at the verification meeting in order to change weight classes. You may make your weight class changes by email at any point prior to the meeting. The schedule will follow the historical organization for masters’ events: the oldest lifters will compete on the first day (Thursday), and the youngest lifters will lift last on Sunday. A tentative schedule will be posted by the USA Masters competition secretary approximately 1 week after the late-entry deadline of March 24.

WEIGHT CATEGORIES AND DIVISIONS (as per IWF at time of event):
Masters age divisions will apply 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90+
WEIGHT CATEGORY CHANGE:
Please note that according to USAW Masters rules, an athlete may increase or decrease his/her body weight category at the Verification of Entries meeting (before the Technical Meeting). After the technical meeting an athlete may increase, but may not decrease his/her body weight category. The athlete must notify the Competition Secretary and report to the weigh-in of the original weight category to confirm the change to a heavier category. If there are any questions about this ruling please contact your National Master’s Chairman, Michael Cohen.
DRUG TESTING AND DOPING CONTROL:
Pursuant to the rules of USA Masters Weightlifting, championships are a drug-tested event. The number of tests administered will depend on the number of entries received for the championships.
AWARDS:
Medals will be presented to first, second, and third place for snatch, clean and jerk, and total.
-Best Lifter for each age group, male and female
-Grand Master award for male and female
-Team awards for first, second and third place, male and female
WEIGH-INS:
Official weigh-ins will take place in room 150 at the Salt Palace Convention Center. Check scale will be provided at the Holiday Inn.
SAUNA:
Guests of the Holiday Inn (see hotel registration link for discount rates) will have unlimited access to their sauna.
